"It is the season for a romantic walk across the city's hilltops, affording a breathtaking view of the city. After descending back down to town, the merry bustle of the Salzburg Christmas market touches all. The smell of punch and toasted almonds, hot roasted chestnuts and freshly baked apples envelopes your nose, and the vendors' gingerbread hearts, nativity figures, Christmas tree ornaments, toys and snug knitwear are irresistible."
This weekend, the Christmas market began!
The Christmas Market is very famous in Salzburg, every year, people come from other countries to see it.
I'ts everywhere in the city, you can find a lot of things to buy (but unfortunately it's expensive!), little presents like Christmas decorations, slippers, pull-overs, beanies, candles, sculptures ...
You can also go there to eat something because there is a lot of stands which sell food (bretzels, candy, different kinds of chocolate, crêpes, sandwiches and a lot of Austrian specialties) or you can drink something like big beers or punch!
We went there three times in a week because it's always like it's the first time that we go there! We bought things to eat (we were shocked because the price of one crêpe is 6 Euros !!!)
I think i will buy a lot of thinks from there for Christmas (for my host family and my family). We went there one time at around 18:00h and that was the most beautiful experience because the lights in the night are so pretty!!
The evening, we went in a bar with friends not far away as the Christmas Market!
